This past weekend this little cutie came and visited me for her cake smash photo session. I must admit it was hard to crack a smile out of her, but she had the most adorable expressions and she barely cried. When a baby doesn't cry I consider it a win! Her theme was a balloon one with grey, turquoise and white colours. I find matching colours is one of the most challenging things to do when creating a set whether it be on the cake or the decor. If you look and ask for turquoise balloons they are usually the darker turquoise ones. The ones I used were called mint green and they had a pearl sheen on them. I've done so many cake smashes and many clients request balloons so I'm wondering if it's worth it to invest in a helium tank??

Baby Hot Air Balloon Cake Smash Photography – North York, Toronto

I absolutely LOVED the colours of this cake smash session. I haven't really explored much of the mints and greys but now I have a new found love for them! This little guy's mom has a great sense of colour and creativity. It took some time, but we came up with the perfect set to match the decor of his room. I'm no stranger to hot air balloon themes so it I was able to cut out a few balloon shapes with my trusty Cricut. I actually created my own template so I could get the perfect roundness to the balloon shape. All you need for these balloons are 2 identical shaped balloons, and a bit of glue and it's done! The clouds were reused from my previous airplane themed shoot so that was a bonus. It's great when I'm able to reuse props from old shoots and turn them into a brand new set. Overall, everyone was happy with how it all turned out and the little guy had a fantastic time with his cake.

This was a really fun yet challenging cake smash set to design. I had a few learning curves to overcome but in the end I did it! I couldn't quite figure out how to make the paper vines but after doing a lot of googling and trial & error I finally figured it out. I took some photos of the process so I will post it later

This was this little birthday boy's second visit to my studio. He came in for his first photo shoot at 2 months. If you ever remember seeing a baby Air Jordan photo somewhere this is him! How time really flies -- Im so honoured to have the privilege of doing his 1st year photos too!

He had the sweetest smile & expressions which made this photo shoot truly worth while. If anyone is interested in a Safari Jungle themed cake smash, then let me know! I saved all the props

This little cutie had a winter wonderland themed cake smash with pretty gold, pink and white snowflakes on the backdrop. For this cake smash I decided to break out my dust collecting Cricut Explore Air machine to cut out some snowflake shapes. I've never really used my machine much before but I finally got the hang of it and it was such a time saver!

The session went really well! She even decided to go face first and take a bite right from her cake. It was the cutest thing ever! Her mom was really creative and crafted her own little birthday banner. Love these pics!

It's finally the new year so I decided to make some changes to my website. I updated the galleries with some more recent session photos of newborns & cake smash birthdays. There's still much more to do, but I'm dedicated to finishing it!

I am a bit late posting this cake smash, but here's a collage of the cutest little guy in a two tone cream & white backdrop with a beautiful giant cupcake to complement it!

We also got to take some adorable shots in a bucket tub for some bubble bath shots. Isn't he such a cutie?

I recently did a fun Little Man cake smash shoot decorated with moustache and flag banners. This little guy was so cute! Love his precious smile! He made a big ol mess but that's what made this session all the more fun. We also designed a cool chalkboard to match his little man theme. Hope to see you again little man!

Pretty in Pink – Birthday Cake Smash, North York, Toronto

Over the weekend, I took such a sweet cake smash photo session of a little darling that I first met when she was just a tiny newborn. I feel so honoured to be capturing some key milestones in the first year of her life! This cake smash took a bit of preparation from the paper rosettes to the delicious vanilla smash cake. I've never made rosettes before and although the concept seemed rather simple, the execution took me quite some time . Crafting can sometimes be a love-hate relationship! lol In the end, I absolutely LOVED the way it all turned out. I have to give my hubby lots of credit for helping me out and mounting them to my backdrop!

This little guy was dressed up in the most charming little outfit! I love it when lil kids are dressed up like little men It's so cute! His first birthday party was just a few days away and I managed to get these pics to them just in time for the big party. They brought in this amazing birthday chalkboard which inspired me to start making my own. His mom was so great in giving me info on all the details! I am so grateful! I just love doing these cake smash sessions!
